Reuse organisations in Surrey

Surrey Reuse Network (SRN)

If you cannot reuse your unwanted items at home you might like to donate them to a community or voluntary organisation (VCO). These are charitable organisations that enable people on low income and/or marginalized by society to access household items at affordable prices. They also offer training and employment opportunities for people in such predicaments.

Their work with regards to reuse of unwanted household items involves:

  • Repairing and selling second hand furniture and electrical equipment including computers, washing machines, TV's, tables, chairs, cabinets...

  • Selling unused textiles / footwear and books, toys, CD's in local charity shops and at jumble and car boot sales

  • Reusing leftover pots of paint

  • Repairing and sending tools and bicycles to third world countries

These organisations generally offer a collection service to householders. However, please do call them first to ensure that they have enough storage space and that they are able to make use of your donated items before organising collection or delivery.
